Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson is shocked to learn that the MNR knew Agent Orange had been used in the Kapuskasing and Hearst area decades ago but said nothing to the people of the region. A Toronto Star exclusive has uncovered government documents detailing an aerial spraying program during the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s. The U.S. military started using “hormone herbicides” like Agent Orange in South Vietnam in 1961. Bisson is calling on the government to disclose the information and contact people in the region who may have been affected.
