 Calling all producers and entrepreneurs to attend the summer AGRIVA market!The AGRIVA group confirmed at a meeting last Wednesday that there will be six AGRIVA markets organized throughout the summer. The markets will take place between July 11 and September 12, 2009. Like the one last year, the markets will take place on the Hearst Legion grounds, Saturday mornings between 9:00 am and 11:30 am. The methodology will be a little different since the merchants will have the option of using their own kiosks.
Each market will be unique as the summer progresses. The July 11 market will probably carry a little more value-added products and earlier grown produce such as rhubarb while the markets in September will probably include more fruits and vegetables. The markets can carry all food or value added products produced locally. This can include fruit, vegetables, flowers, preserves, baked goods, meat products, and other value added products such as products from industries like Lacwood. Authorized producers must reside within a 125km radius from Hearst, and they will have to register before the market date by contacting La Centrale at 372-2838 (located in the tourist center of Hearst).
