LOCATION: Hearst, ONTARIO CANADA
Notre-Dame Hospital requires locums to assist the family physicians currently serving a population base of 10,000 persons. The locums are providing a mix of services during their stay including emergency, clinic and care of patients admitted to hospital. Average revenues would be approximately $2000/day. The Ministry (UAP – Underserviced Area Program) will reimburse for travel and accommodations. Also possible to join the Health force Ontario – EDCDP program
for additional assistance.
What do we have to offer?
Locums clinic- Clinic hours can be adjusted based on the requirements of the locum and scheduled ED shifts. Usually tend to have three sets of available clinic hours: 10am until 4pm / 1pm until 7pm / 7pm until 9pm.
- The hospital assumes the operating costs of the clinic There is always an RPN/receptionist at the clinic to assist. The physician keeps 100% of the fee for service billing. On average physician would see 4-5 patients/hrs.
- The physician would on average also see 4-5 patients in the hospital and again he would keep the fee for service billing.
- A minimum of $950/day is guaranteed but on average the revenues would vary between $1100 to $1500 for an 8hrs day (6hrs of clinic + in-patient & paperwork).
Hospital Emergency Department- Three schedule options are available. A full 24hrs starting at 8am / a day shift from 8am until 6pm / a night shift from 6pm until 8am the following morning.
- During a 24hrs we would get between 40 and 50 patients. Revenues are based on a pre-set formula with a fixed daily rate plus a variable amount per patient. Revenues for a 24hrs period will vary between $2800 to $3200.
- 44-bed hospital – 64-bed Nursing Home adjacent to the hospital.
- PAC’s linked with Timmins and District Hospital, visiting radiologist.
- Comprehensive diagnostic services including lab, x-ray, mammography, ultrasound, ECG, respiratory, stress testing and Holter monitoring.
- Visiting consultants in cardiology, ENT, oncology, pediatrics, radiology. Locum: Emergency physicians, surgeons.
- 270 km. to district facility.
- Family oriented bilingual community in the middle of nature – excellent services are offered: cultural, education, exterior activities …(www.hearst.ca)
- Several options are possible for accommodations: 2-bedrooms fully furnished apartments across from the hospital and clinic, bed & breakfast, motels….
