The fire situation in the Hearst/Kapuskasing is not being helped by the storm that came through the region yesterday. Several fires were started by lightning strikes and some of them are under control. One near Remi Lake is being contained, but there is a larger fire south of Fauquier that is not under control at the moment. Conditions in the bush are dry according to the MNR’s information officer, Roger Carrier in Hearst. And reminder to area residents that we remain under a restricted fire zone.
