 Under our windows, on our patios, in our yards" To sow, plant, water and harvest while enjoying oneself... The more one knows vegetables, the better one appreciates them... " RULES : This is a free competition for the general public, 4 years old or more, living in Hearst and surrounding communities (Mattice to Jogues, and all the way to lake Ste-Thérèse). THERE ARE TWO THEMES: 1. In planting pots (under windows, balconies and patios) 2. Traditional gardens TWO AGE CATEGORIES: 4 - 18 years old 18 years old and more PRINCIPLE OF THE COMPETITION: The participants will have about three months to cultivate vegetables under their windows, their balconies, their patios and in their yard. They will be judged by local gardeners who will visit twice during the summer; first in mid-July and then at the end of August. The judges will take photos viewable at the www.agriva.ca website. Their criteria will be the following: Esthetics and creativity; such as display, the use of colours, and culture variety. Besides the economic and ecological gesture you will create for your community, you will also have the chance to receive:A basket of local products and your garden photos posted on the Agriva's website. REGISTRATION: Please register before July 1st, 2009 ONLINE HERE. We will reveil the winners on September 12, 2009 at the last public Agriva Market of the season. Furthermore, interested participants may want to showcase their most beautiful vegetables at the Agriva Market... for fun and for the general public to vote.
