It’s official. The new James Bay detachment has finally been announced with its headquarters in Kapuskasing. The new command structure sees Inspector Mike Demeules as detachment commander with two office managers. Staff Sergeant Mike Pilon will operations manager in the Cochrane detachment while Staff Sergeant Jacques Picknell will be in the Hearst office. Inspector Demeules is in charge of the entire detachments encompassing more than half a million square kilometers. The new James Bay detachment has offices in Hearst, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Cochrane and Moosonee.
