Almost a quarter of residents in Algoma Manitoulin are confirmed organ donors. Nearly 24% have signed up to donate, which is well above the provincial average of 17%. North Bay and Sudbury lead Ontario in the number of people who've signed organ-donor registrations -- at over 30 per cent. The Kapuskasing and Hearst area sits around 20%. At the bottom of the list is Toronto -- at just four per cent. After hearing the story a caller from Smooth Rock Falls let Moose FM news know that her late husband donated his eyes last year. The CNIB informed her that two people now have sight thanks to his generous gift.
