In a news release late last week the province has announced that the public will be able to participate in a series of discussions on the sustainability of Ontario’s forests. The consultations begin next month with meetings scheduled for Timmins on September 22nd and Hearst on September 24th. According to the press release there will be other meetings in other communities as well as with aboriginal organizations. The discussions will focus on how the province should modernize the system that determines how wood supplies are licensed, allocated and priced as well as legal obligations.
