People of the community are invited to the first AGRIVA Coffee-Chat which will take place on Saturday morning between 9:30 and 11:00 am at the Hearst Rocheleau's Independant store. The group AGRIVA, which is more and more active in the community, begins a new concept of Coffee-Chat which aims to inform the community about various subjects of the farm/local food produce sector and the added value products. Objective is to have this type of Coffee-Chat one time per month during the periods when the monthly market AGRIVA will not take place.

The AGRIVA Group in association with the Porcupine Health Unit is organizing training sessions for the handling of food with the aim of obtaining certification.

The following subjects will be approached: proper handling of food, food poisonings, bacteria, methods of cleaning and disinfection, and food allergies. Afterward the participant will be recognized as a "Certified Food Handler" under the Ministry of Health Food Handler Training Protocol.

We are organizing our first outdoor market for local products in Hearst.  The market will includevegetables, fruits, marinades, wood products and other local products.

It is Saturday September 13th that the AGRIVA outdoor market for local products will be held.The market will be open to the public from 10 am until 2 pm and will be held at the Hearst Legion, 1131 Front Street, Hearst, Ontario.

For any individuals interested to showcase / sell their products, please contact Francine Lecours at 705.372.0029 to reserve a location under the tent.
