Six men from southern Ontario have been fined a total of $27,000 for buying a moose while on a hunting trip last fall. All six pleaded guilty to unlawfully buying game wildlife, contrary to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act. The six men were in the Hearst area hunting for moose last September when conservation officers found the moose at their camp was not shot by them. The MNR reminds hunters that commercial sale or purchase of wildlife could result in fines or jail or both.
